Experience Europe by Sea

There is something completely different about seeing Europe from the water.

One day you're wandering through an ancient European city. The next, you're watching the coastline disappear as you sail toward somewhere new.

I've experienced ocean travel through some of Europe's most fascinating waterways, including the Mediterranean, the Black Sea, and the English Channel.

And I've learned that choosing an ocean cruise isn't simply about deciding where you want to go.

The ship, itinerary, stateroom, dining, excursions, pace, and overall atmosphere can make a tremendous difference in the experience.

My job is to help you find the combination that feels right for you.

Why Cruise Europe by Sea?

European ocean cruising offers an incredible variety of experiences.

You might spend the morning exploring an ancient Greek island, wander through a historic Mediterranean city in the afternoon, or discover a coastal village you've never heard of.

You can experience several countries in one journey while enjoying the comfort of returning to the same ship each evening.

And there's something wonderful about having time to simply sit back and watch Europe unfold from the water.

For some travelers, the cruise itself is the destination.

For others, it's the perfect way to connect several European experiences into one unforgettable journey.

Where Can a European Ocean Cruise Take You?

Europe offers an extraordinary range of ocean itineraries.

The Mediterranean

From Italy and France to Spain, Greece, and beyond, the Mediterranean brings together some of Europe's most iconic cities, beautiful coastlines, incredible food, and thousands of years of history.

The Greek Isles

Whitewashed villages, ancient ruins, beautiful beaches, local food, and island life make Greece an endlessly appealing destination.

The Adriatic

Croatia, Montenegro, Slovenia, and surrounding destinations offer dramatic coastlines, historic cities, beautiful scenery, and a different side of Europe.

The Black Sea

The Black Sea offers a fascinating combination of cultures, history, and destinations that many travelers never experience.

Having traveled this region myself, I know how different—and memorable—it can be.

Northern Europe & Beyond

From the English Channel and Northern Europe to other European coastal destinations, there are countless ways to experience the continent by sea.

The challenge isn't finding somewhere to go.

It's figuring out where you should go next.

Choosing the Right Ocean Cruise

There are a lot of choices when it comes to ocean cruising.

And sometimes the differences aren't obvious until you know what to look for.

I'll help you consider:

The Itinerary
Where do you want to go, and how much time will you actually have in each destination?

The Ship
Large ships, smaller ships, and everything in between can offer very different experiences. The atmosphere, service, dining, entertainment, and amenities all matter.

Your Stateroom
Location, size, balcony options, views, and proximity to different areas of the ship can all affect your experience.

The Dining Experience
Food is an important part of travel. I'll help you understand the dining options and determine what fits your preferences.

Excursions
You don't need to do everything offered in every port. I'll help you think through which experiences are worth your time and which destinations may be better explored on your own.

The Pace
Some travelers want full days of exploration. Others want time to relax on the ship. The right itinerary should allow you to travel at a pace you actually enjoy.

The Season
The same European itinerary can feel completely different depending on when you travel. Weather, crowds, events, and seasonal experiences all play a role.

The Best Part May Happen Before or After the Cruise

One of my favorite ways to plan a European ocean cruise is to extend the journey beyond the ship.

If your cruise begins in Rome, why not spend a few days experiencing Rome first?

If you're sailing from Barcelona, perhaps your European journey should begin there.

And if your cruise ends somewhere you've always wanted to explore, why rush home?

A carefully chosen hotel, a few extra nights, a private transfer, a memorable meal, or an experience that you've been dreaming about can completely change the feel of your trip.

That's why I don't view a cruise as a stand-alone vacation.

I see it as one part of a larger European journey.

Is Ocean Cruising Right for You?

Ocean cruising may be a wonderful fit if you:

  • Want to experience multiple European destinations in one journey

  • Enjoy having a variety of dining and onboard experiences

  • Like the idea of combining relaxation with exploration

  • Want access to coastal destinations that may be difficult to connect independently

  • Enjoy having the convenience of unpacking once

  • Want flexibility in how you spend your time

  • Like the idea of extending your cruise with additional time on land

And if you're unsure whether ocean cruising—or a particular itinerary—is right for you, that's exactly the kind of decision I can help you make.

My Approach to Ocean Cruising

There is no single "best" cruise.

There is only the cruise that makes the most sense for you.

I take the time to understand how you travel, what excites you, what you value, and what you would rather avoid.

Then I'll help you navigate the choices—from destination and itinerary to ship, stateroom, excursions, dining, and the experiences surrounding your cruise.

My goal isn't simply to get you on a ship.

It's to create a European journey that feels thoughtfully considered from the moment you leave home until the moment you return.

Your Cruise Should Be More Than a Vacation.

It should be a journey you'll remember.

You bring the curiosity. I'll curate the journey.
